About the Electronics and Communication Engineering...

The Department of Electronics and Communication engineering was established in 2009. The student association name for the department is ELECTUMACE and it was inaugurated on 07.01.2012. We had intelligently coined a new word ELECTUMACE which is a clipped words of electronics and communication (ELEC), a Latin word Coctum (TUM) which means “bounded together as a crew” and ace (ACE) which is of the meaning “expert in everything what we perform”.

The Department has been moving forward in achieving academic excellence with a strong commitment and dedicated approach, clearly setting up of a vision of its own with the help of our eminent professors. The initiatives taken have already started yielding excellent results, in terms of developmental activities that keep us going in the path of excellence.

Our alumni who have gone on to distinguished careers as innovators in industry, living and working throughout the world, still have corporate and personal ties with the College through recruitment, mentoring, guest lectures, and other interactions.

Mission

To provide education for those students who are able to compete internationally, able to produce creative solutions to the society’s needs, conscious to the universal moral values, adherent to the professional ethical code, and to generate and disseminate knowledge and technologies essential to the local and global needs in the field of electronics and communication engineering.

 
Academics
Undergraduate

The B.E. in Electronics and Communication engineering is a comprehensive degree program. The goal of the Electronics and Communication engineering curriculum is to create a flexible undergraduate educational experience in design, mathematics, modeling, computing, management, engineering science, humanities, social sciences and fine arts. Principal study topics include Linear Integrated Circuit, Computer Networks, Electrical machines, Digital Electronics, Electronic system Design, Electronic Devices and Circuits,Digital Signal Processing, VLSI, Microprocessor and Microcontroller and others. This broad and flexible program allows students to customize their programs to meet their objectives and particular career goals. Traditional students can prepare for technological careers in industry, graduate school or management. The more interdisciplinary students can utilize this program as a launching pad for professional careers in business or public service.

Programme educational objectives
  • To provide students with sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, analyze and solve engineering problems and to prepare them for post graduate studies and for successful careers in industries.
  • To develop the ability among students to define engineering problems in the fields of Electronics and Communication Engineering, and to employ necessary techniques, hardware, and communication tools for modern Engineering applications. Also graduates will attain the ability to carry out research in different areas of Electronics communication engineering.
  • To instill the values, skills, leadership and team spirit for comprehensive and wholesome personality, to promote entrepreneurial interest among students and to create a fervor for use of Engineering in addressing societal concerns.

  • An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice
  • An ability to carry out research in different areas of Electronics and communication engineering fields resulting in journal publications and product development
 
Industrial Connection

The department has to its credit corporate training programs, industrial consultancy, and funded projects from government bodies. These connections served to benefit students in the form of good placements, well-equipped laboratories and industrial exposure. The participation of industries in curriculum designing has helped the department to keep pace with fast-changing industrial needs. The department also benefits from the visiting professor programs of AICTE through which highly experienced senior executives deliver lectures to staff and students.

 
Careers

The program enables the students to take up careers in a broad spectrum of industries. Many of the IT industries also have BSNL divisions, which increases the job potential of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Around 80% of the students are placed in reputed industries practicing core and allied engineering, through campus recruitment and the remaining 20% prefer higher studies in India and abroad.
